Viennale at the Film Museum
October 25 to November 6, 2019
The Austrian Film Museum is not only the venue for the joint retrospective with the Viennale – O partigiano! Pan-European Partisan Film – but also a festival cinema showing special programs and contemporary works from filmmakers like Ignacio Agüero, James Benning, Peter Brook, Alain Cavalier, Pedro Costa, Bette Gordon, Kurosawa Kiyoshi, Franco Maresco, Callisto McNulty, Francisco Rodriguez, Angela Schanelec or Ala Eddine Slim.
The following artists will be present at their screenings: Ignacio Agüero (Nunca subí el provincial), Yuri Ancarani (San Vittore), James Benning (two moons), Pedro Costa (Vitalina Varela), Josef Dabernig (Heavy Metal Detox), Sílvia das Fadas (u.a. Luz, clarão, fulgor …), Philipp Fleischmann (Austrian Pavillion), Luke Fowler (Cézanne & Mum’s Cards), Siegfried A. Fruhauf (Thorax), Bette Gordon (Variety), Friedl vom Gröller (l’ avenir? de F.v.G.? & Hochzeit im Paradies), Michael Heindl (u.a. In Times of Deception & Hard-Headed Harmony), Henry Hills (The Tree), Katharina Kastner (Villa Empain), Dieter Kovačič (Aquamarine), Lukas Marxt (Loading Pit), Astrid Ofner (Die Strände / Les plages), Billy Roisz (u.a.
