Orlando

1983, Super 8, color, 4 min
Directed by: Ashley Hans Scheirl
Cast: Karl Heinz Bloyer, Andrea Dürr
Collection: Austrian Film Museum
The film is a reference to Virginia Woolf's Orlando – a key figure in queer cultural history and associated transgender subjects. Shots of Scheirl's friends Carl Bloyer and Andrea Dürr, walking through or eating in a barren landscape, are cut together so that the two figures are pushed into each other. (Text: Magdalena Steffan)
