Perhaps not unlike Igwe's films, this program moves through time, backward and forward, simultaneously. Starting with her latest film Penkelemes (2025), which explores the history of the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, it traces Igwe's work and her interrogations of archives in a multiplicity of voices. Movements – both embodied and social – appear throughout, defying the boundaries of the frame, questioning visual and colonial histories. Finally, in A Radical Duet (2023) past and present converge in a radical play of imagination. (M.B.)
