Two new Austrian films shown at this season's end – a Viennese premiere of Mara Mattuschka's new feature and the world premiere of Michael Pilz's monumental new work – couldn't be more different. Phaidros and Triptychon both testify to the expressive power and complexity of the film medium while addressing the issue of transmission between arts: from theater and painting into digital cinema.
