This Is Not a Lost Film is a cine-concert featuring Khavn's so-called The Lost Film Trilogy, composed of Filipiniana (2016), Aswang (1933) (2017), Juan Tamad Goes To The Moon (1898) (2018), and an excerpt from Nitrate: To The Ghosts Of The 75 Lost Philippine Silent Films (1912-1933) (2013). Researchers of Filipino silent cinema are still not certain whether these are actual & recently discovered treasures from the earliest era of Filipino cinema that Khavn has shamelessly appropriated and tweaked to his debased purposes, or complete fabrications, masterminded by Khavn. We shall, in any case, witness a spectacle of outrageous images (and inappropriate sounds), including the first Filipino silent film, the first Filipino horror film, and the first Filipino science fiction film that precedes Georges Méliès' Le Voyage dans la Lune by full three years! With a live musical score by Khavn & Babel Gun! (J.M.)
