Cineschool
Our Cineschool series invites pupils from the age of 5 to 18 years to experience film in its manifold ways: Originally started in 2002 as an initiative in the context of the EU Cinedays the program has been expanding and now encompasses over 100 different programs in four types of modules:
Lecture: Film educators and Film Museum employees design lectures on different historical and aesthetic aspects of film. Short films and film excerps are shown and discussed with the students.
Film-Talk: Contemporary films are shown in their original format and are followed by a discussion with the director.
Close-Up: A film is shown in its original format and language in the cinema and is analysed with the help of chosen sequences.
Cinema Next: Presentation of young cinema from Austria with conversations about the films as well as the different paths and possibilities
that lead to making films.
The events are between 120 and 240 minutes long, entry is free. School classes have to register in writing to .
