Pioneers of Laughter
The World of Slapstick Comedy
Clowns and film pioneers on an endless journey to find the best gag sometimes even risked their own lives. They were adored throughout the world and their gags and techniques have not lost their relevance – even outside the comedy genre. In excerpts from throughout film history past and present, we will familiarize ourselves with how these early comedians worked, how they used their bodies and film's capabilities just to make us laugh. We will meet Charles Chaplin as a director, Buster Keaton as the craziest stuntman ever, and Laurel & Hardy, who never really do anything right. (nu&nz)
