Lav Diaz – Part 7

The outstanding director Lav Diaz has entrusted his work to the Austrian Film Museum. In 2022, we began a permanent exhibition of his work as part of Collection on Screen. On the occasion of Diaz's personal presence in Vienna, we will present two of his works in part 7: Norte, the End of History (2013) and From What Is Before (2014). We are pleased that Diaz will be able to share a few introductory remarks about his films with the audience. Parallel to his visit at the Film Museum, Diaz will also be a guest of the Island Tides Initiative at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. The goal of this interdisciplinary research program is to shed light on artistic strategies from South East Asia and the Pacific, with a focus on the Philippines.
