From Film Studies to Feature Films

"For me, the question of locating homeland in a modern, globalized and networked society is very exciting. In what form does homeland still exist and is it necessarily meaningful for identity?" asks Olga Kosanović. The work of the young Viennese director and cinematographer often deals with the multifaceted meanings of "home and "homeland" in people's personal lives – in both features and documentaries. Taking a look at these films, we will talk to Kosanović about the approaches and themes of her work, the path from film studies to her first shorts and first long-film project, as well as what it means for a young person to make their passion – filmmaking – into their profession.
