Michael Pilz – Part 5

In early 2023, we presented a selection of works by Michael Pilz preserved at the Film Museum to celebrate the solitary Austrian filmer's 80th birthday. In our series Collection on Screen, we continue to stride through his epic body of work. To complement our screening of Pilz's film about the work of legendary theater director Jack Garfein, we will also show another rarity in our collection: a 35mm print of the first of Garfein's fascinating directorial works for cinema, The Strange One (1956).
